Building the Life We Talk About

The author reflects on a busy but fulfilling period in life, having bought a Jeep named Waypoint, symbolizing enjoying the journey rather than racing through it. They emphasize outdoor adventures, organizing their home, and gratitude for their partner, Beth, while maintaining a balanced approach to health and wellness. Excitement for future adventures is evident.

A Quick Getaway to Cataract Falls

Sometimes the best adventures happen close to home. Beth and I headed to Cagles Mill Lake for some kayaking and a visit to Cataract Falls, expecting a relaxing day on the water. The wind had other plans, but we still enjoyed a great day outdoors and were reminded that not every adventure has to go perfectly to be worth taking.

Real Life

Maybe I’ve Been Looking at This All Wrong

I started this blog to keep myself accountable, not to chase page views.

Lately, I’ve been putting a lot of pressure on myself to make it grow faster than it’s supposed to. Every post, every social media update, every Pinterest pin started feeling like a test instead of something I enjoyed doing.

The truth is, the blog is already doing what I created it to do.

It’s helping me stay focused on my goals. It’s documenting my journey. It’s reminding me how far I’ve come.

I’m almost 8 months sober, more than 35 pounds lighter, and taking better care of myself than I have in years. Those are real victories, whether the blog gets five views or five thousand.

So for now, I’m going to keep showing up, keep doing the work, and keep focusing on becoming the person I want to be. The rest can come later.

One day at a time. One workout at a time. One good decision at a time.

What a Difference One Day Makes

A simple one-day schedule change has had a bigger impact on our lives than we expected. Between opposite work schedules, finding time together, and making room for new adventures like kayaking, Beth and I are learning that sometimes the key to a strong marriage isn’t having more time—it’s making the most of the time you have.

We’re Done Trying To Be Perfect

We’re done trying to be perfect. Between stress, schedule changes, money worries, and trying to balance real life, we realized we needed a healthier and more sustainable direction. So we’re rebuilding our routines with higher-protein low-carb eating, walking, lifting, kayaking, and focusing more on consistency instead of perfection. This is the new direction for both our lives and BB Fitness & Adventures.

Let’s Talk About Sex… And Weight Loss

Losing weight and getting healthier changes a lot more than just your appearance. More energy, better confidence, better mood, better sleep… and yes, even your sex drive can improve too. Turns out eating better, working out, and taking care of yourself affects way more than the number on the scale. Sometimes getting healthy helps you feel like yourself again.
