7-Day Reset: Day 4 – Running on Empty, Still Showing Up

Today is Day 4… and I’m not gonna sugarcoat it.

👉 This one’s a grind.

The Night That Set the Tone

Yesterday started great.

I had energy all day… right up until about 9:30.

Then it hit me.

Hard.

By the time I got off work at 11, I went straight home, made my lunch, filled my water bottle… and went right to bed.

Or at least, that was the plan.

Because the second my head hit the pillow…

I couldn’t fall asleep.

Just laying there.

Wide awake.

Could’ve been the new medication.
Could’ve just been one of those nights.

Last time I remember looking at the clock…

1:30 AM.

And right then I knew:

Today was going to be a battle.

And honestly…

These are the days I usually fall off.

4 Hours of Sleep… Still Getting Up

Alarm goes off at 5:35.

And yeah… I was tired.

But here’s the thing about me:

I don’t hit snooze. Ever.

When it’s time to get up… I get up.

That’s discipline.

No negotiation.

Simple Wins Matter

I stuck to the plan:

Water.
Coffee.
Yogurt.
Out the door.

Nothing fancy.

Just doing what I said I was going to do.

By the time I got to work, I was already starting to wake up.

We were busy too, which helped.

Got moving.
Got the blood flowing.

By lunchtime (around 11:30)…

I felt good.

Yesterday Wasn’t a Miss

I didn’t lift yesterday.

But it wasn’t because I skipped.

I worked a double.

And at my job, that’s not sitting around.

I was moving all day.

By the end of it?

Around 19,000 steps.

So no…

That wasn’t a miss.
That was earned.

I Was Wiped Out… So I Listened to My Body

After work…

I was done.

Completely drained.

So yeah — I went home and laid down.

And I ended up taking about a 3-hour nap.

Old me would’ve looked at that and said:

“Day’s shot. I’ll start again tomorrow.”

But not this time.

Got Up… and Got After It

I woke up still a little groggy…

But I got up anyway.

And I went and had one hell of a workout.

Treadmill.
Weights.
Sweating.
Pushing.

Not because I felt amazing…

👉 But because I said I would.

Dialed In

And on top of that:

Diet stayed locked in.

Calories — well below where they needed to be
Macros — right where they should be

No slipping.
No “I’ll just grab something quick.”

Just sticking to the plan.

This wasn’t perfect…
but it was controlled.

No Excuses — Back to It

And that’s the difference this time.

I’m not using anything as an excuse.

I showed up anyway.

No overthinking.

Just execution.

The Turning Point

I can feel it now…

I’m getting over that hump.

That spot where:

You’re tired
You don’t feel like it
You start looking for excuses

That’s where this reset either works…

Or falls apart.

And I’m not letting it fall apart.

What’s Actually Helping the Most

Honestly?

This.

Writing this blog.

Putting it out there.

Keeping myself accountable.

Because if you’re reading this…

Maybe it helps you push through your own day too.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just about weight.

It’s about:

Feeling better
Having energy
Getting your edge back

When you feel better physically…

Everything else starts to fall into place.

Day 4 Takeaway

You’re not always going to feel great.

You’re not always going to be rested.

But you can still show up.

And sometimes…

That’s the win.
